VIDI X Loan Program

Program Requirements

• Choose C++ or Python lesson plan 
• Teacher(s) involved in the program need to participate in orientation training 
• At least 10 students and 1 teacher need to be enrolled in the program
  
• Teachers will need to complete a post-loan survey 

How to Participate

• Let us know that you wish to try the VIDI X solution in your school 
  
• VIDI X team will contact you and set up the date for the orientation training 
• We will send the VIDI X loan package to your school 
• You will have two months to try VIDI X, after you have completed the orientation training. Please invest time in teacher training and make sure to use the resources and instructions on our website and within lesson plan, so you can effectively run computer science lessons with your students 
• In the post-loan survey, you will be able to contribute with ideas how to build additional content for VIDI X and share how you achieved success in your class 
• After two months you can return the VIDI X package to us or decide to keep it, and purchase it at a favorable price

Frequently Asked Questions 

What hardware do I need to use VIDI X? 

• You will need a computer per each VIDI X you will use. Any Windows, Mac or Chromebook machine will work.
• Your computer needs to have a USB-A connector. For Macbooks you will typically use a USB hub with USB-A slots 

Is the loan program free? 

• Yes, Learning Labs will cover shipping costs to your school. If you decide to return the VIDI X after two months, you will however need to cover the shipping back to Learning Labs.
• Your school will need to spend time training your teachers how to use VIDI X device and lesson plans, to effectively engage your students.  

Where can I access the learning materials? 

• Your school needs to whitelist vidi-x.org domain, so you can access our learning portal learn.vidi-x.org .
• Your teachers and students can log into learn.vidi-x.org with their Clever, Microsoft or Google credentials (email address), but you need to inform us (send a list) of teachers and students who will participate so we can assign appropriate roles. Teachers will have access to the lesson plan with detailed instructions for each lesson and will be able to track students’ progress.  

What kind of lesson plan will I get with the loan program? 

• Choose your coding preference: C++ or Python. You will be given access to the short version of the lesson plan that will be more than sufficient for the loan period. Our lesson plans include detailed instructions for teachers, programming lessons, examples that connect programming to real world applications, and “Pick a Challenge” section for those who want to explore further.
